Music Monday: I Don’t Care by Icona Pop

I haven’t done one of these lately so here it is

Icona Pop Feat. charli XCX
This is song pretty much sums up my mood lately.

Since I’ve first heard this song I’ve been in love, unfortunately I have yet to hear it in a party situation so I can let my inner Catwoman out. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.

Music Monday: Three Cheers for Five Years by Mayday Parade

Okay so I decided to do a music challenge, well I’ve actually decided to do every music challenge I can find. So I’m just going to lump them together and do them because I love music and want to share.

Day 1: Your Favorite Song.

Three Cheers for Five Years (acoustic) By Mayday Parade

This song is not my absolute favorite song, because I don’t really have one.

I love pretty much every genre of music I’ve listened to so trying to find one song was just very hard, but I did.

The reason I picked this song is because no matter how many times I hear it, I will ALWAYS listen to it, it can come on the radio/ipod/youtube pretty much everything ten times and I will listen to it each and every time. (I will probably sing along each time as well.)

Super Bowl Sunday and Music Monday

So the Super Bowl was yesterday and I am sad that the 49ers lost, but I guess they didn’t lose as spectacularly bad as I thought they were going to do closing the gap 34 to 31.

The 49ers just didn’t have the defense or offense to beat the Ravens, but the hope that had blossomed from my chest after the halftime show almost made me want to vomit when they didn’t win.

The blackout that lasted over 30 minutes almost ruined the entire game for me, and the commercials which were once my favorite thing about the SuperBowl just really lacked the usual flare they have. Overall I wished I watched the PuppyBowl.

I did however enjoy the Halftime show surprisingly. Beyonce while not my favorite singer did a pretty good job, and the Destiny’s Child reunion, that I knew was coming, made me squeal with joy. Oh how I long for them to go on tours, I’d have tickets in a heartbeat.

So for Music Monday I give you Beyonce’s Super Bowl 2013 halftime show.

Music Mondays: Thriftshop by: MackleMore & Ryan Lewis Feat. Wanz

When I first heard this I was like What the hell is this!? then I was like this is FUCKING AWESOME

Finally a song that speaks to me. Growing up with Hip Hop and Rap that bragged about ‘Gator Boots and Pimped out Gucci suits’ while I shopped at thrift stores and wore hand me downs, maybe this song will open peoples eyes about it being okay wearing something that might not be considered ‘Trendy’ or ‘cool’.

Either way this song is excellent. Thlyrics and Macklemore’s style of rapping makes this a delightful song to listen to.

Music Mondays: Better Dig Two By: The Band Perry

I am so in Love with this song, took me a while (surprisingly) to track down who sung it and what the name of the song was but since that day in the car while I was driving home from work and it came on, I fell in love

This song not only features Electric Guitars and Banjos, but Mandolins and Fiddles (FIDDLES!) as well.

Kimberly Perry does an extraordinary job on Vocals and although the lyrics for the song is just a bit creepy I can’t help but sing along when it plays.

This Album when it finally does get released with definitely be on my “To look out for” List

Music Mondays: Patience by Guns n’ Roses

To be quite honest I had wanted to start this a while ago I just never had the right song to start.

I said screw it I’ll find something to post it really shouldn’t be that hard.

I just couldn’t find the perfect song. Should it be something that goes with my mood? Something classical? Popular?

I just didn’t know what to do or what song to use, and I had continued with no idea until today when it just hit me!

Patience by: Guns n’ Roses

And to be honest I have no idea why it’s so perfect but it is.

The opening whistling is something I can listen to all day. With the acoustic guitars (I scream in glee over this) and Axl’s surprisingly soulful voice I can easily get lost in the song. Off of the band’s album G N’ R Lies I suggest that everyone take a listen and appreciate the power ballad for what it is…
